This Super Bowl XLV in Dallas at the Cowboys new stadium could sell more tickets than any Super Bowl to date. They’ve even set up tents outside the stadium to accommodate the more than 100,000 fans that they expect to attend. I’ve never been to the big game but I have been to the NFL Experience. That’s an event previously held on the grounds of the hosting stadium, although I believe they changed that this year. I love the NFL Experience and Super Bowl but I think I’d prefer watching the game at home, comfortably with commercials of course.
The NFL does a great job for the fans, (in my opinion) during Super Bowl week. There are always lots of festivities in and around the host city. Player’s show up in local bars and restaurants, celebs are all around town, and the activities for families with kids are designed to make those little ones fanatics like the rest of us. The NFL Experience does that and more. I’ve been fortunate enough to get to two. For me it’s a don’t miss event whenever possible.

It’s amazing that the Pittsburgh Steelers are flying under the radar being 3-0, but they are. Not only are they undefeated, but they have started three different quarterbacks which has to be a first in NFL history. The entire Steelers organization and Coach Mike Tomlin won’t admit it, but I’m sure they would have been happy with 2-2 record without Roethlisberger. Now they have a chance to be 4-0 with a game against Baltimore coming up, which will be a typical physical and tough game. Either way they will have surpassed their fans expectations for the start of the season. Most people, including me, have a tendency to forget that they were Super Bowl champs two year ago, and have won two Super Bowls in five years, which is considered a dynasty in today’s NFL.
The key is the philosophy of the organization. They build the team the old fashion way. The Steelers always run the ball well and they play defense, defense and more defense. Last year the Steelers defense imploded, in a major part because they did not have Troy Polamalu for the most of the year. He is the quarterback on defense and without a doubt the most valuable player on the team. He does everything. He plays the run and plays the pass. He is terrific at both. He often seems to be in more than one place at time at time, like he’s cloned himself. One of him appears to be lurking in the oppositions huddle because he knows what’s coming. Polamalu’s leap over the Tennesee’s center and tackling the Tennessee’s Vince Young on quarterback sneek was truly remarkable. I’ve never seen anyone do that before. I’m thinking it’s got to be the hair. No wonder he has it insured for one million dollars.
The Steelers also have a Nostradamus approach when it comes to its personnel. They know when a player is going to leave and they always have a less expensive and often better player as a replacement. When Joey Porter left, they had James Harrision, when Willie Parker started to slow down, they had Rarshard Mendenhall, when they felt Santonio Holmes was going to leave, they traded him and have Mike Wallace on their roster. On and on it goes.
The only thing the Steelers have to worry about is when Roethlisberger comes back, which sound strange on the surface, but there is a natural human inclination to relax because their star quarterback is back. I’m sure coach Tomlin is aware of this, and will continue to push the throttle to prevent this from happening. The Steelers have set themselves up for a good season with they’re goal to be Super Bowl champs. I wouldn’t put it past them.

The Pittsburgh Steelers, the current leaders of the AFC North, clashed on Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals and won by 23-7 in the SteelersÂ’ stadium.
Pittsburgh is one of the NFL franchises that has had most success in the league. It counts with six Super Bowl championships, seven conference championships, 19 division titles and from 1974 to 2008 has participated 25 times in the playoffs.
The less most recent and less remarkable moments of the Steelers were in 2003, 2006 and 2009 seasons when they finished third in the division. In 2005 the team finished second but managed to get into the playoffs.
This season, the Steelers want to get back to the same level they showed in 2007 and 2008 seasons in which they were crowned champions of the division.
The Steelers began a run of three consecutive wins against Atlanta, Tennessee and Tampa Bay, respectively. The fourth week the squad fall 14-17 at Baltimore Ravens right before their BYE week. After the break, the Steelers defeated Cleveland and Miami. Then the guys from Pittsburgh meet with New Orleans and lost 10-20.
During the ninth week is given the first match of the season between Pittsburgh and Cincinnati, with a 27-21 victory for the former. The Steelers couldnÂ’t overcome the New England Patriots in week ten and the Pats won 39-26.
From the eleventh week the Steelers began a new streak of consecutive wins against Oakland, Buffalo, Baltimore and the last one against Cincinnati, respectively.
In regard to Cincinnati, the story is quite different. The squad only outstanding moments in recent seasons were in 2005 and 2009, when they won the division. The rest of the other seasons the squad remained stagnant in the middle end of the division.
The Bengals began the 2010-11 season with a 38-24 defeat against New England. Then won two games against Baltimore Ravens and Carolina Panthers. And that was it. So far these have been the only two wins of the season.
From the fourth week, the Bengals fall into a run of nine consecutive losses. In the fourteenth week before the Steelers, Cincinnati recorded its tenth defeat to keep on securing what is going to be a season to forget. This record makes them, after the Carolina Panthers, the second worst team in the league.
Cincinnati started the game with a touchdown in the first quarter, and gave some false hope to their fans. In the second quarter Pittsburgh took control and did not allow its rivals a chance for another score.
With a 45-yard touchdown, product of an interception return by Troy Polamalu and a field goal, the Steelers went to the break of the second half with a 10-7 advantage on the scoreboard. In the third quarter with another field goal Pittsburgh increased its score 13-7. In the fourth quarter, the Steelers secured its 23-7 victory with a second interception return by this time LaMar Woodley and an easy field goal at the end.
Pittsburgh’s superiority was clearly demonstrated by the excellent performance of their quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. Although Big Ben did not throw any touchdown passes, he completed 21 of 33 passes and for 258 yards. Carson Palmer, Cincinnati’s quarterback, threw 32 passes and completed 20 for 178 yards, and a touchdown pass but suffered three interceptions.
Pittsburgh now has a 10-4 record and leads the AFC North. The team is keeping an eye out for what Baltimore (9-4), its closest rival, could do in its next game against New Orleans. For its part Pittsburg will play the NY Jets, a team that has fewer chances to advance in their respective division.

Like the city they represent, the Steelers showcase certain attributes. Among them are a tough, blue-collar work ethic, an emphasis on integrity and ethics and the willingness to be leaders among the pack.
If you know anything at all about Pittsburgh, you probably know that for generations it was the hub of the American steel manufacturing industry. The city was also a major producer of iron as well. These backbreaking industries where easily some of the most demanding occupations anywhere. But even to this day, the city prides itself on the contributions that these works made to our nation and the world.
The black and gold have long been known for maintaining a certain level of integrity and ethics. Unlike some other football franchises, the Dallas Cowboy, Baltimore Ravens and Minnesota Vikings for example, the organization does not tolerate criminal or unethical behavior. Just look at the top-notch players the Steelers have traded or released rather than defend over the last few years when they could have simply swept their discretions under the rug.
And of course, the franchise has always been a leader. As far as the game itself goes, the Steelers where the first team to win three Super Bowls, The first to win four and the first to win six. And now, they may be the first to win seven. Monday Night NFL Football – Pittsburgh Steelers Versus Denver Broncos Live Streaming
The Denver Broncos were a perfect 6-0 prior to last week but now all of the sudden, there are question marks. Nobody was expecting them to be 16-0 this season but a lot of people did expect a much better effort than they put forward last week at NFL Picks.
All of the sudden, that begs the question as to whether Broncos are back to the reality that everyone perceived them to be or if last week just a one-off.
The difference last week was that for the first time this season, the Broncos were not more physical than their opponent. With a second consecutive AFC North opponent coming off a bye on the dial, the Broncos may be in danger of losing two straight.
The Pittsburgh Steelers offense will take a good look at some of the weaknesses that were exposed in the Broncos defense last week and they are sure to work on them.
They’ll see that Joe Flacco had a high completion percentage and a running game that churned out 115 yards on 26 carries.
The Steelers will use Rashard Mendenhall to wear down the Broncos defense and then go to the air with Ben Roethlisberger.The Steelers passing game has plenty of weapons with receivers Santonio Holmes, Hines Ward and Mike Wallace, which means as long as they avoid throwing at Champ Bailey, they will be fine.
All of the sudden, the Broncos offense isn’t looking so hot. They are struggling to run the ball and they aren’t making plays down field, which has allowed opposing defenses to creep up to the line of scrimmage.
Part of the problem has been the decline of Eddie Royal, who is on pace for less than 400 yards receiving. With him being a non-factor, Brandon Marshall is facing more attention and it’s shortening the amount of options that Kyle Orton has in the passing game.
This is a unit that has all of the sudden grown compact and they’ll have to open up this week if they want to win. They may need more than just a handful of points to win this game so they better be ready to match some points.
The Broncos played a team that was very physical with them last week and they didn’t like it. Now they face a second consecutive opponent that is going to hit them in the mouth. Last week may have been a reality check but a lot of people are starting to feel that it is closer to reality than just an aberration.
Expect this Steelers defense bring a lot of pressure on the Broncos, who simply aren’t making any big plays right now.
Coming off a bye week with two weeks to prepare, expect the Steelers to be very focused en route to a second consecutive loss for the Broncos
